About the instructor:Joy was born, raised, and educated in the Southern part of the Philippines, where she got her bachelor’s degree, majoring in Communication Arts in Filipino, and was a Language Teacher in a public school before moving here in the USA. Since then, she became a sub-contractor (and sometimes an independent contractor) to Language Services companies on the East Coast, serving military officers as well as Foreign Service Officers. With more than a decade of experience in Tagalog Language Training, whether it is teaching/training Tagalog to diplomats heading to the Philippines, developing language curriculums for contracting government agencies or companies, or creating standardized test materials for language testing, she does it all with enthusiasm, perfection, and love for her work. She believes that language is a tool to understand a culture, and culture is what connects people.

Welcome to Tagalog Beginner 4 class! Congratulations on making it this far in your Tagalog language journey. This class is intended for students with some knowledge of Tagalog, and it will build upon the skills and knowledge gained in the previous beginner classes.

Throughout this class, the focus will be on speaking and listening, with some reading activities to reinforce your learning. You will have the opportunity to practice your language skills through role-plays, conversations, and other interactive activities. You will also learn more advanced grammar concepts, including verb tenses and complex sentence structures.

One of the key goals of this class is to help you improve your ability to ask and answer more advanced questions. You will learn how to express opinions, give descriptions, and share ideas in short texts at a conceptual level of control. You will also work on your pronunciation and intonation, helping you to sound more natural and fluent in your Tagalog conversations.

By the end of this course, you will have progressed towards the 4 proficiency level and be able to communicate more confidently and effectively in Tagalog. You will have improved your vocabulary, grammar, and pronunciation, and be able to express yourself more clearly and accurately.

Learning Tagalog is not just about mastering a language, it is also about immersing yourself in a rich and diverse culture.
