This class will meet online from January 30th to March 6th.
The minimum number of students required per class is three. If only two students enroll, the class will still run but will be shortened to five weeks instead of the usual six.
About the instructor:Olga was born and educated in Belarus. She got her Bachelor’s Degree in French and English Languages at the University of Mogilev in Belarus in 2008, Master’s Degree in pedagogical sciences at Minsk Linguistic University in 2009. She holds ABD in Belarusian Language and Literature (Dissertation title: „Actual style traditions of women’s Russian-speaking literature of Belarus (late 20th – early 21st centuries) “). Olga speaks Russian, Belarusian, French, English and she also studied Latin.
Low Beginner Russian is the ideal next step for students who have completed a Complete Beginner Russian course or have spent a few months studying the language. This course is designed to build upon foundational skills, helping students expand their knowledge and gain greater confidence in using Russian in everyday situations.
In this course, students will deepen their understanding of the Cyrillic alphabet and improve their pronunciation and listening skills. They will learn to construct more complex sentences, explore new vocabulary, and master essential grammar topics such as basic verb conjugations and noun cases. Topics will include talking about daily routines, asking for and giving directions, and engaging in simple social interactions.
By the end of the course, students will be able to participate in longer conversations and handle more practical situations in Russian. This level is perfect for those who want to continue their learning journey and solidify their basic Russian skills while exploring the language in greater depth.
