About the instructor:Olga was born and educated in Belarus. She got her Bachelor’s Degree in French and English Languages at the University of Mogilev in Belarus in 2008, Master’s Degree in pedagogical sciences at Minsk Linguistic University in 2009. She holds ABD in Belarusian Language and Literature (Dissertation title: „Actual style traditions of women’s Russian-speaking literature of Belarus (late 20th – early 21st centuries) “). Olga speaks Russian, Belarusian, French, English and she also studied Latin.

About the class: The Low Intermediate Russian class is designed for students who have studied Russian for 8-12 months and have already acquired a basic understanding of the language. To enroll in this class, students should be able to have conversations about themselves and their interests in Russian, have knowledge of the Present, Past, and Future tenses, and understand the Russian case system to some extent. Students are also expected to know the difference between verbs of motion for going on foot and going by vehicle.

The primary goal of the Low Intermediate Russian class is to help students build on their existing knowledge of the language and improve their oral communication skills. To achieve this goal, the class will focus on practicing oral comprehension and speaking through various exercises, dialogues, and short oral descriptions. This will allow students to gain confidence in their ability to express themselves in Russian and improve their overall fluency in the language.

In addition to improving their oral communication skills, the class will also focus on revising and practicing the Russian case system. Students will continue to learn about the different cases and how to use them correctly in various situations. This will include learning how to use the genitive case to express possession, the accusative case for direct objects, and the dative case for indirect objects.

By the end of the course, students should have a more solid understanding of the Russian case system and be able to communicate more fluently in Russian. They should also be able to understand and use a wider range of vocabulary and sentence structures.
