This class will meet online from January 29th to March 5th.

The minimum number of students required per class is three. If only two students enroll, the class will still run but will be shortened to five weeks instead of the usual six.

About the instructor: Jenna earned her M.A in Teaching Korean as a Foreign Language and a B.A. in Japanese Language and Literature. Throughout her career as a language teaching professional for over 10 years, she was fortunate to deepen her insights in foreign language education by meeting learners with diverse backgrounds and needs. She makes sure her students have plenty of opportunities to fulfill their interests, and that her classes are fun and engaging. She enjoys the spark and “Aha!” moment on her students’ faces.

High Beginner Japanese
High Beginner Japanese is designed for students who have been studying the language for 6-8 months and are ready to advance their skills. This course reviews essential grammar concepts while introducing more complex sentence structures and expanding vocabulary with nuanced expressions.

Students will enhance their fluency across all language areas—speaking, listening, reading, and writing. Practical exercises will focus on tasks such as describing past events, expressing preferences, and making polite requests, all within culturally appropriate contexts.

Serving as preparation for Low-Intermediate Japanese, this course provides a strong foundation for learners aiming to deepen their understanding and confidently progress in their language journey.
