About the instructor: Francesca L. is an Italian native, born and raised in Friuli Venezia Giulia, the most North Eastern region of Italy, right on the border with Slovenia and Austria. After studying Latin and Ancient Greek at the liceo classico, she received a Master’s Degree with honors in Modern Languages and Literature from the University of Trieste. In Italy she worked both as a German teacher and as an Administrative Assistant, while enjoying her children and family. After moving to the Bay Area with her whole family, she started teaching Italian to adults at Bechtel International Center at Stanford. Recently she completed an annual Masterclass offered by Università Ca’ Foscari, Venezia, specializing in teaching Italian as a foreign or second language. She believes that learning a language means learning a different culture and enriches you as a person, helping broaden your horizons and your perspective.
