About the Author of This Blog
Olga Sylvia holds a PhD in French from the University of California, Berkeley and she is the founder and current CEO of Polyglottist Language Academy. She has studied in four different countries (US, France, Russia, and Guatemala) and is fluent in four languages (English, French, Russian, and Spanish). She is currently studying Dutch. Olga also taught three languages at two different universities and a language school in California. Additionally, she taught French literature and cinema, and the history of ethics at a university level. She is doing academic research on animals in the French Renaissance and historical analysis of Oxford manuscript Chanson de Roland. Olga has presented at numerous American and European conferences on Renaissance literature and philosophy. Furthermore, she is the former director of a summer abroad program in Antigua, Guatemala. Olga has visited 23 countries and wants to visit many more in her lifetime. She is looking forward to share all of her passion and knowledge about languages, cultures, and traveling with the readers of this blog.
What this Blog is about
This blog is for those who are interested in learning different languages within a reasonable timeframe. It is also for those are interested in exploring world cultures, the differences that exist between them, and the misunderstandings that these differences can create. Finally, it is for those readers and students who travel locally and globally, who want to participate in intensive language programs abroad, and/or explore other cultures and practice languages they speak on their own.
